This relationship has been enhanced with Hydraquip’s formidable market growth, becoming an important supplier into the UK MRO and OEM markets and also Eaton’s expansion of products through acquisitions. From 2011, Hydraquip’s purchases have grown more than tenfold, but with much more potential to grow further and faster.
Duncan MacBain and I worked for the same company early in our careers at Medway Hydraulics / Horley Hydraulics where we were both young enthusiastic and successful salesmen selling a complete range of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, fittings and tubing in the South East of England and learning our trade. Throughout our careers we have kept in contact even when we were not directly trading with each other.
I have watched Duncan go from a part owner in one local branch – Gatwick Hose Ltd to developing his own nationwide 28 branches together with a hose replacement van service that arguably no-one can match. Even so Duncan remains the same friendly person that I met back in 1984 but with even more determination to successfully grow the Hydraquip business. His staff have the same service oriented culture with great experience to match.
